This is my favorite recipe for baked beans. I got the recipe from my mom, and I'll always be grateful. Every time I've made them for a gathering, they were the first to go. There are four kinds of beans, bacon, and brown sugar among other things.
I would suggest pairing this dish with a nice cold porter in the summertime.

I followed your recipe and made five batches of beans as a side dish for a very large group. I must admit I was a bit worried when I saw all the different beans mixed together in my two giant pans. Were people really going to like them or was I going to be bringing home a giant load of beans to feed my family and the neighbors for the week?
Well, here is your validation for that recipe. I am pleased to say I had no leftovers to cart back to my home, and several people asked for the recipe.
Kudos!
